Happy November!

Mayssam Samaha - food and travel writer

Happy novemberAs I mentioned in last month’s column, Montreal’s restaurant week MTL à TABLE is back for its 4th edition until November 8. Over 150 restaurants will be offering $21, $31 or $41 set, 3-course menus.

MTL à TABLE is a wonderful opportunity for food lovers to try new restaurants or revisit old favourites for a more wallet friendly price. The addition of brunch–Montrealer’s favourite weekend activity–is new on the programme this year. Several restaurants will be offering a $21 set brunch menu to get you started on weekend mornings.

This most-beloved food festival is not just about restaurants, since it also encompasses a few other special food and wine events. Fancy a wine and chocolate tasting class at Montreal’s Chocolate Academy or a Relais & Châteaux fine dining experience at restaurant Toqué! and restaurant Europea. They’ve got you covered! Check out mtlatable.ca for more information or to book a table.

If you’re more of a wine aficionado, then you’re in luck because MTL a TABLE will act as a kick off for Happy November, a whole month of wine related celebrations that are sure to quench your thirst. Below are a few of my favourites:

Le salon des vins d’importations privés
• October 30 to November 2, 2015 at Marché Bonsecours will lead you on a discovery of private import wines that are usually out of reach for the average consumer. Tickets are available at participating SAQ stores.

La grande dégustation de Montréal
• November 6 & 7, 2015 at Place Bonaventure will gather more than 200 winemakers and distillers. Tickets are available at participating SAQ stores.

La fête des vins du Québec
• November 27 to 29, 2015 at Marché Bonsecours will feature Quebec wineries and artisanal food purveyors. Tickets are available at participating SAQ stores.
