Clemence Umugwaneza found dead in Louiseville

The investigation into the mysterious disappearance of Clemence Umugwaneza, a 26 year old resident from Bordeaux-Cartierville who was reported missing on January 11, has had a tragic outcome. On Saturday the body of the young woman was pulled from the St. Lawrence River near Louiseville, in Mauricie. The coast guard made the grim discovery. According to police, the body showed no signs of violence. An autopsy will be performed on the body of the young woman. The Sureté du Québec is now in charge of the investigation. Montreal Police had been searching for Clemence for more than a month. The young woman of Rwandan origin had left her residence on James-Morrice Street on January 11 to take in some fresh air, but had not been heard from since then. (M.B./V.L.)
