Isabelle Morin holds a disability tax credit seminar February 24

Wishing to help the citizens of Notre-Dame-de-Grâce-Lachine living with disabilities to get all the support they need, New Democrat MP Isabelle Morin organized a public forum with her colleague, Official Opposition Finance Critic Peter Julian, MP (Burnaby-New Westminster).

The meeting will take place this Friday evening in Layton Hall at 7010 Sherbrooke West. Throughout Quebec, citizens responded in large numbers and were very satisfied with the information they received.

The goal is to inform citizens of the Disability Tax Credit, which can reach up to $1,380 per year, and to assist those who wish to apply with their application for funding. Citizens can also ask questions on the topic directly to a representative from the Canada Revenue Agency.

“This tax credit is retroactive,” said Isabelle Morin. “This means that for some people, the reimbursement could reach up to 10,000 dollars. It’s a powerful tool that citizens in this situation must learn to use.”

“I thank my colleague Isabelle Morin for organizing this event in Montreal. We must provide Canadians with disabilities and their families with the tools to access existing federal programs and the information shared at this meeting is essential”, said Peter Julian.
