Karate more popular than ever

Fall often means getting back in shape. Among the back-to-school popular activities :Karate is attracting more and more people in the neighborhood. Monday night, more than 30 children were at Cartierville’s Ycentre for the beginning of the season. « At the Y center opening, two years ago, our club had 75 inscriptions. Today that number doubled. Karate is more present since the opening of the YMCA » says Claude Delisle, development agent at the borough sports office. Since the past 10 years, the Dojokai Karaté-Do give lessons in Bordeaux-Cartierville. The club has the mission to promote Karate among children and adults in order to support their psychological and physical development. (S.N./V.L.)
