Buying your first home: An important step

Recently, I had the pleasure of finding a first home for a young couple with a new born. They had been living in a Saint-Henri condo and were looking for a home for their growing family. Open-minded about neighbourhoods, they had settled on western Montreal because of commuting.

Knowing they were planning for the long term, we decided on key criteria:
• Schools, parks and recreational services
• Walk and bus scores for shopping, restaurants and amenities
• Financial planning – budget
• Proximity to work

As a broker and with careful attention to their needs, I knew I was a reference for more than just finding a property – it was rather their future lifestyle we were looking fo.

First time home owners can be overwhelmed by choosing the best location and it takes a broker who knows well the distinctions and characteristics of the neighbourhoods, to be the vital link in the process.

While everyone has different needs and expectations when it comes to choosing a house, brokers make the many steps of the process easier. From research to planning visits, financing, inspections and providing the many professionals often required in the purchase, my planner role and my network speeds up the transaction.

Today, this young family has moved into their N.D.G. home and are now getting ready for their second child. It is a continuous source of pleasure to know that I was able to help them envision and shape their dream home.
