Des résidants du Colorado ont eu une vilaine surprise ce matin alors qu’une tempête printanière s’est abattue sur le centre et le nord-ouest de l’État. Certaines municipalités ont reçu jusqu’à 80 cm de neige.
La tempête Valérie a forcé la fermeture de nombreuses routes dans les Rocheuses et provoqué plusieurs pannes de courant.
Plusieurs refuges pour sans-abri de la ville de Boulder ont dû être exceptionnellement rouverts. Il s’agit de la première fois depuis 1971 que cette ville est frappée par une chute de neige un 18 mai.
