It’s Open House season for elementary schools of the LBPSB, and for the first time, both Verdun schools will be holding their open houses on the same night to make it easier to visit both schools.
Next Thursday January 26th, both Verdun Elementary and Riverview will open their doors and invite you to take a look around and speak to staff and administration about programs being offered. VE will be open from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. VE offers the bilingual program and has a vibrant music program and also has a pre-k program for 4 year-olds.
Riverview will be open from 6:15 pm. to 7:45 p.m. to find out about their Early Immersion program and the popular CLC, which provides a wide range of activities both for the community and in-school programs.
Both schools offer daycare and lunchtime supervision and are also part of the Quebec Breakfast Club which offers a low-cost breakfast to start the day off right.
Registration Time
Another upcoming important date for new students and newcomers to the LBPSB and its member schools is the week to register kindergarten students, who will be 5 years old by Sept. 30th and for newcomers to the area. This will be taking place from January 30th to Feb. 3rd.
Parents will need the child’s long form birth certificate and the eligibility certificate for English instruction or the certificate of a parent or sibling who is already eligible. For full admission criteria, consult the admissions area of the LBPSB and call the school of your choice to get times to register.

International Cooking: Tuesdays, 6-8 pm, $50/person, $80/family, 8 weeks
Kickboxing: Tuesdays, 6:15-7:30, $52 / 8 weeks
Caopoeira: Tuesdays, 7:30 – 9:00 pm, $7.50/class
Parent-Child Martial Arts: Fridays, 4-5 pm, FREE, 8 weeks
Ribbon Weave : Tuesdays, 6-8 pm, $50/ 5 weeks
