The “Faucons” juvenile girl’s basketball team from Dorval’s Ecole Jean XXIII are the feminine scholastic basketball champions of the Lac St Louis Region.
The Dorval girls earned the Gold medal with a recent 43-37 victory over the Ecole secondaire Des Sources‘ Cougars team in Dollard des Ormeaux.
Point guard: Katrina Dosado and Annette Muleka led the way for the Faucons. Dosado had a Faucons game high 18 points while Muleka had a critical steal to stop Cougars ace shooter Cecilia Hernando with 20 seconds remaining in the final period and the Faucons up by a meagre 3 points. Hernando was the Cougars and games highest point getter with 20.
Also starring for the Faucons was number 12 Shanice Hall who accounted for 8 scores and Maryline Bastien Charles who was a constant threat in the paint through out the game.
