Approximately $3,286,000 million more invested in roads

Lachine’s Borough Council is pleased to announce that an additional investment of over $3.2 million will be invested in Lachine’s road system. This new injection of funds comes from Ville de Montréal’s 2012 program to repair the local road system. This program is mainly geared toward repaving very deteriorated road surfaces.

Based on the findings of the evaluation made by the Borough’s Service technique staff, we have been able to identify the following street sections as priorities:

– rue Mount Vernon, from rue Érables to rue Wildfern

– 39e Avenue, from rue Provost to rue Sherbrooke

– rue Camille, from rue Ouellette to rue Sherbrooke

– 53e Avenue, from rue René-Huguet to rue Dixie

– rue Remembrance, from 25e to 32e Avenue

« We are well aware, on Council, that there is still a lot of work to be carried out to improve our road system. Every year, we always do a bit more in this regard; however, since money is the crux of the matter, we must make choices. It won’t solve all the problems but it’s a good step forward. Let’s hope that this will be the case for a number of years; our roads are in great need of such investments, » pointed out Mayor Claude Dauphin.

All roadwork will be completed during this summer and fall. Residents living along the roads in question will receive notification in due time, informing them of the schedule and sequence of the roadwork on their street. We also encourage you to consult our website on a regular basis in order to follow the progress of these worksites.
