Mr. DeSousa will work on other challengers, with a smile. « When I see all the responsibilities and the success I had for the past 11 years, I am very satisfied with the results, he says. My reputation is clean and my realisations are known of everyone in Montreal. »
Saint-Laurent Mayor says he keeps his head high and sees this change in a positive light. « It will allow me renew myself and work on news projects with my team », he announced.
Mr. DeSousa is planning to be more present in Saint-Laurent and focus on the borough’s projects. He wants to focus on four particular projects: the opening of the new Du Boisé new public library, the refection of the main streets Côte-vertu and Marcel-Laurin, the construction of the Sports center and the development of the third phase of the Écocampus Hubert Reeves. « Don’t worry I won’t twiddle my thumbs! »
A good player
The new executive committee formed on November 22 reunites elected officials from different parties. Alan DeSousa worked with some of them. He believes they have the necessary skills to complete the files he worked on such as the construction of a new composting center in Saint-Laurent, the issue of sustainable development and the Canopée plan.
Josée Duplessis, of Projet Montréal, is now in charge of Alan DeSousa former files. She will work on the water commission, the environment, sustainable development and the parks.
The new executive committee members are Laurent Blanchard, Alain Tassé, Christian G. Dubois , Elaine Ayotte , Réal Ménard , Benoît Dorais , Émilie Thuillier, Josée Duplessis , Richard Deschamps , Mary Deros and Michel Bissonnet. None of them represent the borough of Saint-Laurent.
