Le premier ministre du Canada Justin Trudeau a commencé sa visite à Washington en grande pompe, jeudi. Il est arrivé à la Maison-Blanche avec sa femme, Sophie Grégoire-Trudeau, en matinée. La famille Trudeau sera l’invitée d’honneur, jeudi soir, d’un dîner officiel à la Maison-Blanche — une première en 19 ans, depuis la visite de Jean Chrétien en 1997.
Pendant son périple à Washington, le premier ministre Trudeau assistera aussi à un déjeuner offert par le secrétaire d’État américain, John Kerry, et ira déposer une couronne de fleurs au Cimetière national (militaire) d’Arlington, de l’autre côté du Potomac, en Virginie.
