Le montréalais Leonard Cohen a été honoré au gala des prix Juno dimanche soir. L’artiste décédé en novembre dernier a remporté à titre posthume les prestigieux prix de l’artiste de l’année et de l’album de l’année, pour son disque You Want It Darker, paru quelques semaines avant sa mort, en plus de recevoir un hommage du premier ministre Justin Trudeau et de sa femme, Sophie Grégoire-Trudeau pendant la cérémonie.
Parmi les autres lauréats du Québec, Laurence Nerbonne a remporté le trophée de l’album francophone de l’année pour XO, tandis que 99,9% de Kaytranada est reparti avec la statuette de l’album électronique de l’année.
The Tragically Hip a quant a lui été sacré groupe de l’année, et la chanteuse Sarah McLachlan a été intronisée au Panthéon de la musique canadienne.
