$30,000 for unclean housing

A former tenant of a duplex located at 11876 Saint-Réal Street is seeking recourse from the owner of the building. The individual wishes to cancel her lease and be compensated for the physical and moral problems that she claims to have experienced while living in housing that is filled with mould. On August 31 Samantha Lisi and her 17 year old daughter left the place where she was living, along with a report in hand from the public health authority. According to the document, dated August 8, “the apartment presents with favourable conditions for a fungus contamination and is regarded as unsuitable to live in under the current situation.” Mrs. Lisi will have her case heard on December 2 at the Régie du logement.
