A new slide, new shade areas and aqua zumba at Dixie Pool

Dixie Pool, situated beside Dixie Park in West Lachine, has added some new features for Summer 2012; two new trellised shade areas, a brand new Aqua Deluxe 450 water slide (with a 450 degree turn) and Aqua Zumba classes given by Cubaritmo. This is in addition to last year’s major upgrade of the clubhouse and the new landscaped exterior facing the tennis courts provided by the city.

For the 2012 season Dixie is providing both dry-land and Aqua Zumba classes. Zumba is an exhilarating, easy-to-follow, calorie-burning, Latin-inspired dance-fitness program enjoyed by more than 12 million people of all shapes, sizes and ages taking weekly classes in over 110,000 locations across more than 125 countries.

Dixie has also replaced it’s aging slide with a new Aqua Deluxe 450 Degree water slide. Featuring a seven foot high platform, the Aqua Deluxe 450 Degree has high side rails and sturdy welded ladders that make sliding both safe and fun. Also this summer, two new wooden shade structures have been built to provide additional shaded areas on both the upper and lower decks of the pool.

Dixie is a unique community pool with programs that grow with the kids; from Tiny Tots through Leaders onto Lifeguarding; a place where kids can enjoy the true freedom of Summer, activities are just a walk or bike – ride away and run throughout the day – with time to see friends or enjoy a book in between; and a place to renew friendships for young & old. We are a non-profit organization where each member pays an annual registration fee. Dixie has the lowest membership fees of all the private West Island pools.

Activities at Dixie include:

– Swim team

– Synchro

– Diving
