Three Christmas portraits

They live Christmas in Bordeaux-Cartierville in their own way, with their traditions. At the venerable age of 96, Fernand Barrette plays Santa Claus since 1982. He regrets the spiritual aspect of Christmas and thinks that « Christmas is becoming more commercial. » The Bélanger family celebrate Christmas with traditional dishes and a lot of decorations. They are planning to reintroduce the mass in the family traditions. Sajdeda, Lynda, Salam and Leïla are Muslims. One does not celebrate Christmas, another prefers New Year, another celebrates Christmas the way most people do here while the last one is discovering the celebrations for the first time. (A.E.)
