Lachine graffiti on increase

There has been a considerable increase in graffiti reports during recent weeks. Borough Mayor Claude Dauphin is asking citizens for their cooperation in ending this scourge that is defacing our neighbourhoods.

“I call upon Lachine residents to join in a common front with our municipal departments and police force to put an end to these destructive activities. Thanks to citizens’ vigilance and the ongoing efforts being made by Montréal Police Department officers of neighbourhood station 8, we recently succeeded in apprehending several individuals doing graffiti. I also want to congratulate our Borough’s Graffiti Team which is responsible for ensuring that all traces of the graffiti are removed,” stated Mr. Dauphin.

Remember, if you see anyone doing graffiti, you can contact 911. If it is after the fact, contact either the info-crime line (514 393-1133) or neighbourhood police station 8’s confidential line (514 280-9398). Also, if you are a victim of graffiti and wish to have it removed, call the Borough at 514 634-3471, extension 360.

“We have the good fortune to live in one of Montréal’s most attractive boroughs. Together, we can make sure it stays that way. Let’s keep our eyes open!” Mr. Dauphin concluded.
