Green project with a social flavour

The Cartierville community is beginning to mobilize around the Éco-quartier Green Alley Project. In addition to the environmental aspect to fight small heat islands, participants see a means of addressing social problems. Several neighbours have complained about noise, itinerancy and the sale of drugs in this extremely dilapidated place. An exploratory walk was held Wednesday involving about 30 people, including residents of the surrounding buildings, elected officials from Ahuntsic-Cartierville, representatives from the local police station and active organizations in the district. Carried out by Tandem Ahuntsic-Cartierville, the walk aimed at noting the problems of urban safety presented in the area located south of de Salaberry Street between Grenet and de Meulles Streets.
