Suspect package: panic barely avoided at the MP St-Pierre office

A big commotion was avoided the 6 of June at the office of Acadie’s MP, Christine St-Pierre. Like many liberal MP and members of the media, she got a suspect package send to her office.

After hearing about the reception of suspect letters by several MP’s offices on police radio two agent of the PDQ 10 (police de quartier) decided, for preventive measure, to go to St-Pierre’s district’s office, on Henri-Bourassa boulevard. On their arrival, the office’s clerks haven’t had the chance to open the mail yet.

The two agents were not excepting to find package looking like the other ones. They find a plain, white envelope filled with white powder. There was also a letter indicating to the person that would have had open the letter that he or she was contaminated with anthrax. It was only cornstarch and onion salt. This act is claimed by a group called «Forces armées révolutionnaires du Québec». (V.L./S.N.)
