Mardis cyclistes postponed due to extreme weather

Because safety is a priority, the series of 10 stage races will now begin June 10 and finish on August 12, but there will no longer be a pause for the week of July 22 as announced earlier.

The president of the Mardis cyclistes, Joseph Rossi, made the decision to postpone the bicycle races after consultation with Lachine police chief, Sylvain Bissonnette, and with Louise Lalonde, a «commissaire» with the FQSC.

After a few hours of thunderstorms and heavy rainfall, the three judged conditions too dangerous to hold the races this evening. Specifically, the asphalt was judged too slippery.

The races are free for spectators and will take place rain or shine …unless thunderbolts hit again!
