“A Bard in Wolf’s Army”: Conference in Dorval
As part of its ongoing activities, the Dorval Historical Society sponsors on November 16 a bilingual conference entitled “A Bard in Wolf’s Army”. The conference will be animated by well-known historian Jean-Pierre Raymond.
The conference is based on facts as described a recently published book by Earl John Chapman. The author describes many anecdotes as related by a certain James Thompson a sergeant in the 78th Highland Fraser regiment. He served three years in the British Army during the Seven Year War and for more than 60 years in the engineering department of the British Army in Quebec City.
The conference will begin at 7 p.m. at the Dorval Library (1401 Lakeshore Drive). Admission is free for the Society members and $3 for non members.
