Terrible anguish for relatives of young woman reported missing

A family from Rwanda who reside in Bordeaux-Cartierville are in anguish over the disappearance of one of their relatives last week. Clémence Umugwaneza, 26, was last seen around 9 p.m. on Wednesday January 11 when she left the home she shares with relatives to go for a walk and get some air. Her family is very worried, especially since she is not in the habit of leaving without telling them her plans. “I have no idea where my daughter can be,” said the mother of the young woman, Redempta Umunezero, when meeting the media at the corner of James-Morrice and Charles-Gill Streets. “She always returned home. The rare time when she slept elsewhere, I knew where she was.” Montreal Police, who have no explanation for the disappearance, went door-to-door on Monday near the missing person’s place of residence and plan to continue the search along the rivière des Prairies.
