LaSalle Oldtimers's 7th Annual Hockey Tournament

Starting Monday April 22, at 6PM, you will be able to visit the Jacques Lemaire Arena in Lasalle to watch entertaining hockey from many of the more “mature’ hockey players in the Montreal area, including many local players.

This is our 7th year organizing this tournament and we are expecting another very successful event.

Games will be played April 22 to April 28, from Monday to Friday the games start from 6PM to 9PM and on Saturday from 9AM to 8PM. The Sunday Playoff Finals start from 10AM to 3PM.

Also on Saturday, at 9AM, we will be having exhibition games from some MAGH Teams within the area. These kids are fun to watch and it provides us with a great contrast, to see the old guys play versus the youngest players in the community. It will be difficult to judge which skill levels are superior.

The categories in this years tournament are 35B, 35C, 50A, 50B and 50C.

There will be 1 extra game in which many of our “seniors” will play against one

another for the sheer pleasure of playing the game. This will happen at noon Saturday. Most players will be in the 60+ category.

For a detailed schedule, photos and updates on the tournament, plus any miscellaneous information you may require, you can access our WEB site at:

www.loth.ca.

Admission for spectators is FREE and all fans have access to the same food, beverages and treats, that the players have, for a small donation.

The purpose of the tournament is specifically to raise money for many worthwhile charities within the community, to enhance community spirit and participation for the many players that still actively play the game they love.

Over the next few months you will see articles and pictures in this newspaper showing where the monies raised has been donated.

For a fun time, some spectacular hockey (at times not so spectacular) and to spend an enjoyable social time with friends and loved ones, the Jacques Lemaire Arena is the place to be from April 22 to April 28.

NOTE: Once again this year, we are asking players and fans to bring “non-perishable” food items. There will be a section reserved for this and the items will benefit the HOPE Foundation which is run by volunteers from the St. John Brebeuf church community.

For many in the community, times are hard and we are trying to do our bit to help those less fortunate than ourselves.

The opportunity is there for us to make a small difference and we sincerely hope you are able to help us.
